GOD IN FRANCE

for travelling theater festival 'de parade' we designed this decor for the play 'god in Frankrijk'.

The backdrop for this comedy is an imagination of both a traditional French Gîtes as the rush and opportunistic nature of the couple’s relocation to France. The decor is made out of all kinds of loose objects you take with you in case of an emigration. From administration and photo albums to the porcelain elephant that your great-aunt has bought you at her trip to Bali. The props used during the play are part of the decor.

 

The entire decor is, with the exception of the orange sunshade completely white to create an quiet image and to provide a sharp contrast with the dark background of the Parade tent.
